Market Strategist: Rainer Gerdau

Background

Rainer Gerdau grew up near Bad Homburg Germany and studied Finance at Frankfurt University.

He worked 13 years for Dresdner Kleinwort, the investment bank department within Dresdner Bank, where he headed one of their equity strategy teams. He was also partly responsible for index and quant research. Most recently, he worked in Luxembourg as a freelance researcher focusing on IPO evaluations, market comments and single stock analysis for various European investment banks. During his time at DrKW, he was ranked in the Extel survey for analysts in equity strategy, index research and quant.

Trading Style

Rainer follows a mix out of top down and bottom up approach. He uses economic data/themes and quant models to identify interesting markets, regions or sectors. Every strategy will than broken down on a tradable stock level based on a fundamental analysis.

Products

Products include a Regional Daily which contains news, a technical analyses and a fundament part. Moreover, ad hoc theme research on various topics and differed types of screening models depending on the current market conditions.
